100% natural
from Amsterdam to Wellington
Frances Shoemack, a former winemaker, defied the odds by successfully launching her first 100% natural fragrance in Amsterdam. This was back in 2013, when many believed it wasn’t possible to create a luxury perfume using only natural ingredients.
Frances’ radical thinking and determination convinced fellow conspirator, master perfumer Isaac Sinclair, to join her on this mission. In the decade since, they’ve paved a roadmap for modern, natural fragrances not reliant on harsh petrochemicals.
Today Abel is based in Wellington, New Zealand, with global distribution and worldwide acclaim.
a radical approach behind every bottle
The fragrance world has always been shrouded in secrecy. At Abel, we’re passionate about changing that. From our bottles and packaging to our ingredients and creative process, we’ll always be upfront about the way we do things.
in collaboration with nature
We use biotechnology to recreate, elevate and transform scents originating from natural organisms, eliminating the need for petrochemical-derived synthetic ingredients. Merged with the artistry of our master perfumer, biotech gives us the freedom to craft sustainable, long-lasting scents that work with—not against—the rhythms of nature.
one in, one out
Always conscious of our environmental footprint, we never introduce a new fragrance to our core collection without removing one first. Defying industry trends of excess, our ‘one in, one out’ policy embodies the mindful approach underscoring everything we do.
