TWO YEARS IN THE MAKING

Tibi Eau de Parfum, by Abel

Two years in the making

Two years ago, I met Amy Smilovic for an introduction call. A chemistry check ahead of a potential episode together for her podcast, (Almost) Reckless. On that call we got talking about fragrance. By the time I arrived in NYC to film the podcast a few months later, we were already starting to conceptualise what would become "Tibi" the scent.

A PINCH ME MOMENT

Creating a fragrance that captures the soul of the Tibi world and the hearts of the people who wear it has been a genuine privilege. It's the kind of collaboration you hope for, but one that rarely materializes. Two women and two brands with distinct, but complementary points of view. Two years of conversations and exploration that, with the mastery of our perfumer Isaac Sinclair, resulted in something neither of us could have made alone.

Earlier this month, we previewed Tibi the fragrance at Tibi's New York Runway Show. It was a pinch me moment, and one I'm still catching up with.

A PEPPERY, GREEN WOOD

In the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more around the creative process of the fragrance, and a longer conversation with Amy. For now, Tibi the fragrance - a peppery, green wood - is now available to the world and I couldn't be prouder.

I hope you love this striking new scent as much as we all do,

Frances - Abel Founder

“Created around a trio of ingredients, Timut Pepper, Grapefruit and Vetiver, which although very unique and singular, all possess a delightful bitter freshness. Yerba Mate and peppery woods such as Copaiba Balsam add more depth and nuance while reinforcing the composition's inherent structure.” — Isaac Sinclair, Master Perfumer
